Myrtle Beach is known for many things, one being the number of wonderful restaurants along the Grand Strand; especially for fresh seafood!

 

Key West Grill:  This is a great place any time of day!  Overlooking the lake at Broadway at the Beach, the outdoor bar and waterfront dining create an atmosphere that’s fun and inviting.  Inspired by the tropical cuisine of the Florida Keys, the menu offers a multitude of items from appetizers, soups, salads, thin crust pizzas, Caribbean seafood baskets, Cuban rice bowls, crab and lobster, fresh catch of the day, burgers, sandwiches and more.  Gluten free items and a special children’s menu are available as well.  Hours of operation are 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., 7 days a week.

 

Flamingo Grill:  If you’re looking for that “out of the ordinary” place to celebrate a special occasion or just enjoy a nice evening out, this is it!  Flamingo Grill offers the finest cuisine and service that’s second to none.  Their menu features seafood dishes that are out of this world, as well as prime rib, steaks, Italian specialty dishes and nightly specials.  The martini and wine bar is a great place to begin or end your evening.  Hours of operation are Monday thru Saturday 4:15 to 10:00 p.m.; closed on Sunday.

 

Sea Captain’s House:  This oceanfront landmark has been in business for over 50 years and has won more awards than any other restaurant in Myrtle Beach, including “Best Seafood Restaurant” 4 years in a row!  Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, the Sea Captain’s House literally has it all from pancakes, waffles and crab cakes benedict for breakfast to steak, shrimp & grits, fresh seafood and shellfish for dinner!  Gluten free and vegetarian options are available, as well as a children’s menu and take out.  Hours of operation are 6:30 – 10:30 a.m. for breakfast, 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. for lunch and 4:30 – 10:00 p.m. for dinner, 7 days a week.

 

Bimini’s Oyster Bar and Seafood Cafe:  Known for its casual, laid back atmosphere with a little bit of island flair; this hidden gem is a great place to go.  Serving locals and visitors for over 30 years the menu has so many options to choose from that it keeps people coming back for more.  Some of the favorites that Bimini’s offers are a variety of fresh catch of the day selections and oysters, clams, mussels and shrimp that are steamed to perfection.  For something a little different try the crab leg pot, oyster roast or steam pot!  Bimini’s is located just around the corner from Kingston Plantation on Lake Arrowhead Road.   Hours of operation are Sunday – Tuesday 4:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m., Wednesday -Thursday 12:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. and Friday – Saturday 12:30 p.m. -11:00 p.m.

 

Drunken Jack’s:  Located just south of the Grand Strand, this seafood restaurant in Murrells Inlet (known as the seafood capital of South Carolina) serves the freshest seafood that the area has to offer such as shrimp, oysters, lobster, scallops, crab, grouper and flounder.  Soups, salads, chicken, steaks, pasta dishes and sandwiches are also available as well as gluten free items and a special kid’s menu.  The fun, yet laid back atmosphere and live entertainment throughout the week makes the short trip to the Marsh Walk worthwhile!  Lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., dinner begins at 4:00 p.m. and a bar menu is available after 2:30 p.m., 7 days a week.

 

Bubba’s Fish Shack:  This quirky out of the ordinary restaurant has some of the best down home southern style cooking along the coast.  The low-key, casual atmosphere might be just what you need after a long day on the course or at the beach!  No matter what you’re craving, Bubba’s has you covered. Featuring their fresh catch specials, raw & steamed bar, seafood baskets and platters, they also have a great selection of other items to choose from.  Hours of operation are 11:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m., 7 days a week.

 

Captain George’s Seafood Buffet:  This world-famous seafood buffet is listed as one of the “Top 12 All-You-Can-Eat Buffets in America”!  Located directly across from Broadway at the Beach, Captain George’s has something for everyone.  In addition to the endless seafood buffet there are a variety of gluten free options, a complete a la carte menu, vegetarian entrees, a special “Little Shipmates” menu as well as a take-out menu for those that just want to relax and enjoy Captain George’s wonderful food in the comfort of their own home.  Hours of operation are Sunday 12:00 – 9:00 p.m., Monday thru Thursday 4:00 – 9:00 p.m., Friday & Saturday 3:30 – 9:30 p.m.

 

The Original Benjamin’s Calabash Seafood Buffet:  This award-winning seafood buffet, known for their “Calabash style” cooking (lightly battered and deep fried), offers over 170 items including fresh local seafood, a made-to-order pasta station, a carving station, crab station and an in-house bakery that creates fresh breads and desserts from scratch!  The locals award it as the “Best of the Beach” winner year after year.  Hours of operation are 3:30 to 9:00 p.m., 7 days a week.
